Xinyang Shangtian Carbon Neutral R&D and Exhibition Center
Xinyang Shangtian Carbon Neutral R&D and Exhibition Center, contracted and constructed by Tseason, is a groundbreaking project that adopts the innovative "Collective Assembly Steel Structure Building System + Passive Zero Energy Building System." This system incorporates high-efficiency new air cooling and heat recovery technology, renewable energy sources, and more to create a "Constant Temperature, Oxygen, Humidity, Static, Clean" indoor environment within a green building framework.
Certified by the prestigious German Passive House Institute (PHI), recognized globally as the foremost authority in research and certification for sustainable building practices, this center sets a new standard in eco-friendly construction.
About PHI The German Passive House Institute (PHI), founded by Prof. Wolfgang Feist, a renowned physicist known as the "father of the passive house," has been at the forefront of building energy efficiency since 1980. Prof. Feist's pioneering work led to the development of passive house standards, with the institute now overseeing rigorous specifications for calculations, design, materials, testing, and certification.
Construction Details The project utilizes perlite steel wire mesh frame composite heat preservation panels for exterior walls and roofs, customized to local conditions for optimal thermal performance. These panels are industrially produced, reducing construction time while maintaining structural integrity. The design also prioritizes window and door installation safety and thermal performance.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Designed by German passive house standards and national technical standards for near-zero energy consumption buildings, the center achieves remarkable energy efficiency. It surpasses industry benchmarks with an annual comprehensive energy consumption index of 60kWh/(㎡-a) and a comprehensive energy saving rate exceeding 60%. The project's utilization of solar photovoltaic power generation technology results in a renewable energy utilization rate of 54.45%, significantly higher than the national standard for such buildings.
Innovative Technologies The center features large-area solar power generation technology, ensuring clean energy production and reducing roof heat absorption during summer months. Skylights strategically placed in the lobby enhance natural lighting and ventilation, further reducing energy demands.
Location and Impact Situated in Xinyang City, Henan Province, within the Shangtianti Non-metallic Mining Management Zone, the center spans an above-ground area of 3291.56m² with a height of 14.80m, housing offices and exhibition displays. This project represents a crucial step for Xinyang City in its journey towards carbon neutrality, promoting the widespread adoption of ultra-low/near-zero energy buildings and fostering an eco-friendly industrial chain in the region.
